Here are some of our latest science pictures! We're working as teams of engineers to design and test a trash-sorting device that will separate recyclable items from garbage. Check them out!
We enjoyed sharing our map projects with each other! We were all very impressed by one another's creativity and effort!
We had a fun-filled Valentine’s Day party that started with a funny story, and ended with Valentine Bingo! We also exchanged valentines of course, and enjoyed some yummy treats! Thank you to everyone who helped and sent in items for our party!
We are having a blast learning about static electricity with balloons! We figured out how to get balloons to attract and repel each other. We then used what we learned to get a can to roll from a start line to a finish line without touching the can!
We just started our new science kit: Forces and Motion, and so far we are loving it! We explored a model of a swing and made mazes to use with ping pong balls, so we could investigate the effects of forces on the motion of objects. We’re learning how to draw force diagrams to show what happens when a force is applied to an object. We used models to simulate a tug of war and see what happens when forces are balanced and unbalanced.
We had lots of holiday fun this week! Some reading groups performed readers’ theater plays about holidays around the world. They worked hard to practice their lines, choose their scenery, and create their props. We all enjoyed their performances!
We made a festive craft at our holiday party, enjoyed yummy treats, and played winter bingo! Thanks again to all who helped out and sent in items! A big thank you to our homeroom parents for planning such a fun party!

We had a blast at the Harvest Walk, and we’re very proud of all the food we collected for the local food bank!
We had fun carrying out the important job of pollinating our flowers. We couldn’t believe we got to use real honeybees!
Check out these pictures from our first few weeks of school! We've spent some time getting to know each other by introducing ourselves with our Me Bags and interviewing a partner to create buddy banners! We've been working hard to build our reading and writing stamina, and we've been setting up routines for important components of our literacy block, like Read to Self and Read to Someone. We've been playing some fun math games to practice place value! We have certainly been busy in third grade, and we're off to a great start!
